Ruckus Wireless announced its deal to supply Wi-Fi technology for Golden 1 Center – the home of the Sacramento Kings – and Downtown Commons (DOCO).

The wireless initiative will redefine the digital experience for fans, visitors, vendors and businesses in and around Golden 1 Center through new services delivered by Wi-Fi technology.

Golden 1 Center will be one of the sports venues, featuring indoor / outdoor Smart Wi-Fi system based on the newest 802.11ac Wave 2 standard.

The network will enable the Kings to deliver new value-added and location-aware services including multicast replays from exclusive arena camera angles, seat upgrades, real time statistics, enhanced fan engagement.

The infrastructure will deliver gigabit class wireless connections providing Wi-Fi performance that enables fans to experience Golden 1 Center in a ticketless, cashless and frictionless fashion. The adjacent hotel and 1.5 million square feet of retail, recreation, office and housing space will also feature the robust network connectivity.

“The Kings are deploying the latest carrier-class Smart Wi-Fi products from Ruckus, which are designed to dynamically deliver the strongest possible Wi-Fi signals to each user within high capacity environments,” said Dan Rabinovitsj, chief operating officer, Ruckus Wireless.

The Kings are deploying the newest Ruckus 802.11ac indoor and outdoor Smart Wi-Fi access points including the ZoneFlex R710, H500 and T-301 access points.

The Kings will leverage Ruckus virtual SPoT location-based services to inject Wi-Fi user location data into its mobile app, and will use Ruckus SmartCell Insight (SCI) software to gather detailed user analytics, network analysis and traffic trending information designed to optimize the fan experience.
