Air Canada develops Apple Watch app to improve customer experience

Air Canada has developed an application for Apple Watch which will help the customers on the go to obtain travel information.

The new digital strategy will also help the Air Canada customers with tasks such as checking-in.

Customers can get personal and relevant information about flights departing within a 24-hour window from the new Air Canada application for Apple Watch.

The Airlines company said the users will have notifications for check-in and boarding which will be displayed on the Apple watch.

The users can also complete their check in process either on an iPhone or Mac computer.

The Air Canada app for iPhone is available today from the App Store and the Air Canada app for Apple Watch will be available in the Apple Watch Store on 24th April 2015.

American Airlines will also provide similar benefits with its Apple Watch application; customers will be able to check in to their flights, check flight status and more.

“The application will allow customers to easily check their flight status and boarding times. Air Canada’s mobile strategy of innovating with the latest technology to provide customers a wide variety of options for managing their travel using their preferred personal device,” said Craig Landry, vice president of marketing at Air Canada.

Last September, Starwood Preferred Guest announced that with the launch of Apple Watch their application will allow the guests to check-in and open their room door using the watch.

Marriott hotels also announced it would be the first global hotel company to accept Apple Pay for check-in and check-out facilities.

Accor hotels has also developed an application for Apple Watch which will allow the guests to receive alerts when check-in service is open, access information about bookings and will also get information about their hotel services like Wi-Fi.
