Dell India brings X-series and N1500 smart managed switches

Dell announced the new X-series smart managed switches and Dell N1500 for smaller managed environments – targeting small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The company claims that N-Series and X-Series networking products works seamlessly in mid-market companies by providing enterprise level technology optimized for their workloads.

“We observed that SMBs (just as larger enterprises) are being affected by the increased workload rising out of the high impact trends of social, mobility, cloud and analytics. To effectively work through these workloads such businesses require enterprise level technology which is right sized, resource light and financially flexible,” said Manish Gupta, director & general manager, Enterprise Solutions Group, Dell India.

“As new age SMBs start to mark their presence in the global arena and opt for IT as an enabler to optimize as well as expand their business/daily operations, industry specific solutions that can offer ease of manageability and real time control & visibility are rising in demand,” said Gaurav Sharma, research manager – Enterprise, IDC India.

The Dell Networking X-Series includes smart web-managed 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10GbE switches for SMBs. SMB customers can enjoy advanced network management without requiring professional IT support thanks to step-by-step wizards and customizable dashboards that make configuration, calibration and troubleshooting quick and accurate.

The Dell Networking N1500 family offers managed 1GbE switches optimized for smaller networks. The switches utilize enterprise-class Layer 2/3 feature set, common command-line interface (CLI) for consistent management and standard 10GbE SFP+ transceivers and cables for stacking, providing up to 200 1GbE ports in a 4-unit stack. SMBs can deploy a secure network that is optimized for VoIP and social environments, and prioritize network traffic for maximum efficiency.

To reassure wireless customers and partners, Dell announced extended support for the W-series family of wireless access points and controllers.
