Microsoft brings Skype video and messaging to Outlook.com

Enterprise IT vendor Microsoft announced the worldwide availability of Skype for Outlook.com.

The company started rolling out a preview version to select markets last year. Microsoft made some improvements to Skype to enhance customer experience.

Skype for Outlook.com enables users to connect with Skype friends from your Outlook.com inbox.

Users can go from chat or email to a video call with one click. Users will have better experience because they need not move out of their inbox.

The latest version of the plugin has Mac support for Safari.

Microsoft said the latest version supports HD video calling for PC users.

Earlier, some of the users have experienced issues with calls continuing to ring after pick-up when you were running the Outlook.com plugin and Skype on your desktop at the same time. The new version does not have this issue, Microsoft said.
