Security gateway appliance and software revenue up 3% to $690 mn

Network ATP sales
E-mail and web/malware security gateway appliance and software revenue rose 3 percent to $690 million in Q2 2015 from Q1 2015, said IHS.

65 percent of content security gateway revenue was from appliances, and 35 percent was from software.

Network ATP sales rose 63 percent to $181 million over the year-ago quarter.

SaaS revenue for messaging and web/malware security increased $268 million over Q2 2014.

According to the latest IHS Infonetics Content Security Gateway Appliances, Software, and SaaS report from IHS, network ATP revenue will grow at 22 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2014 to 2019.

“Though the market for traditional messaging and web/malware security gateway products is trending flat to down, network ATP and SaaS (software-as-a-service) are growing aggressively, signaling a shift to new deployment models and solutions that deal directly with unknown threats,” said Jeff Wilson, research director for cybersecurity technology at IHS.
