The funds will support product enhancements, expansion into new verticals, and partnerships with enterprise and data providers. Since its 2024 $10 million seed round, Protege has partnered with over 100 data providers across healthcare and media, managing a catalog of 300,000+ hours of video, 500,000+ hours of audio, billions of clinical notes, and hundreds of millions of medical images. The company is now expanding its Audio & Speech and Motion Capture data verticals under CEO Bobby Samuels.
HolmesAI Secures $3 Million to Launch Persona-Based AI Agents
HolmesAI, a platform offering persona-based AI agents, has completed its Seed+ funding round, bringing its total funding to $3 million. Investors include Bitrise Capital, Waterdrip Capital, CGV Fund, with early-stage incubation by HashKey Group and a major cloud computing firm. HolmesAI’s “Persona” system personalizes AI agents to mimic individual language styles, thought patterns, and preferences, incorporating blockchain for tokenization and data ownership. The platform will launch on X (formerly Twitter) to allow users to deploy AI agents for automated, customized content creation, streamlining repetitive cognitive tasks.
EdgeCortix Raises $100 Million to Scale AI Edge Processing Chips
EdgeCortix, a fabless semiconductor company specializing in energy-efficient AI edge processors, has closed the initial Series B funding round, adding to its total funding of nearly $100 million since December 2024. New investors include Yanmar Ventures, Pacific Bays Capital, NTT Finance Corporation, SiC Power, and Aero X Ventures. Existing backers SBI Investments and Global Hands-On VC continue their support. CEO Dr. Sakyasingha Dasgupta stated the funds will accelerate production of SAKURA-II AI co-processors and scale the high-performance SAKURA-X chiplet platform, targeting edge AI deployments globally.
ToteAI Raises $22.6 Million to Modernize Retail Point-of-Sale Systems
ToteAI, an AI-native point-of-sale platform for fuel and convenience retail, raised $22.6 million to scale its platform. ToteAI enables seamless “pump-to-checkout” experiences with unified shopping carts across pumps, mobile, and registers, boosting basket size and reducing friction.
