VC funding: ViSenze, SendBird, Emedgene, Pointivo

Technology companies such as ViSenze, SendBird, NormShield, Emedgene, ThinkGenetic, Pointivo, nsKnox, Peraso Technologies, Redis Labs, Loom, Nasuni, among others, have announced their latest VC funding.

ViSenze

ViSenze, an artificial intelligence company powering visual commerce, has raised $20 million in Series C funding – led by Gobi Partners and Sonae IM with participation from a number of new investors as well as existing investors Rakuten and WI Harper.

SendBird

SendBird, the customizable chat and messaging API service for mobile and web applications, closed $52 million series B round of fundraising led by ICONIQ Capital and joined by existing investors, Shasta Ventures, August Capital, Y Combinator, and Funders Club.

SIMBA Chain

SIMBA Chain, a start-up to democratize blockchain technology, has raised $500,000 in a pre-seed round from Elevate Ventures, Notre Dame Pit Road Fund, Tracy Graham, CEO of Data Reality and AECI International CEO Hari Agarwal.

NormShield

NormShield, a provider of on-demand cyber risk scorecards for enterprises, closed $3.5 million seed funding round.

Emedgene

Emedgene, an automated genetic interpretation platform, raised $6 million led by OliveTree Ventures.

ThinkGenetic

ThinkGenetic, an artificial intelligence company, closed its angel round of funding for $1.5 million.

Pointivo

Pointivo, a software company that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to provide automated analytics for drone and manned aerial platforms, has raised a Series A funding round of $7 million led by BIP Capital.

nsKnox

nsKnox, a provider of corporate payment protection solutions, completed a $15 million Series A funding round — led by Viola Ventures and M12, Microsoft’s venture fund, with the participation of Discount Capital, the investment arm of Israel Discount Bank, and previous seed investors.

Peraso Technologies

Peraso Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company, has raised an additional $42 million in financing — co-led by two strategic investors and existing investor Roadmap Capital.

Redis Labs

Redis Labs has raised $60 million in Series E financing led by a new investor, Francisco Partners with participation from the company’s existing investors, Goldman Sachs Private Capital Investing, Bain Capital Ventures, Viola Ventures, and Dell Technologies Capital.

Loom

Loom, a work communication tool, has raised nearly $11 million in Series A financing led by Kleiner Perkins. The company has raised nearly $15 million in total funding from General Catalyst, Point Nine Capital, and the Slack Fund.

Nasuni

Nasuni, a provider of cloud file services, received $25 million in growth equity funding led by Telstra Ventures with participation from existing investors Goldman Sachs, Sigma Prime Ventures, North Bridge Venture Partners, and Flybridge Capital Partners. Nasuni in September of 2017 raised $38 million led by Goldman Sachs. The total funds raised by Nasuni reached $145 million.
