VC funding: Syte, AppZen, MISA, SGI-DNA, Ventiv Technology

Syte, Root Insurance, AppZen, MISA, SGI-DNA, Ventiv Technology, RippleMatch, Kenmei Technologies, GreenBay Technologies, among others, announced their latest VC funding or PE funding.

Syte

Syte, a visual AI technology company, has raised $21.5 million in Series B funding led by Viola Ventures with the participation of Storm Ventures, Commerce Ventures, and Axess Ventures and previous investors. Syte has raised $30 million to date.

Root Insurance

Root Insurance, an insurance technology company, has raised $350 million in Series E funding led by DST Global and Coatue with the participation of existing investors Drive Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital, Scale Venture Partners, and Tiger Global Management, along with several new investors. Root has now raised $523 million in funding, with an additional $100 million in debt financing.

AppZen

AppZen, a leading AI platform for modern finance teams, has secured $50 million in Series C funding led by Coatue Management with the participation of existing investors Redpoint Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. AppZen raised more than $100 million to date.

MISA

TA Associates, a growth private equity firm, has completed a minority investment in MISA Joint Stock Company (MISA), a software provider in Vietnam. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

SGI-DNA

SGI-DNA, a developer of synthetic genomics technologies and DNA data storage solutions, has completed a $25 million Series A financing round led by Northpond Ventures, with participation from Oxford Finance and BroadOak Capital Partners.

Ventiv Technology

Tailwind Capital has acquired Ventiv Technology, a software provider of Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solutions for enterprises and government entities. Financial details were not provided.

RippleMatch

RippleMatch, a technology company in the data-driven university recruiting space, has raised $6 million in Series A funding, led by Boston-based G20 Ventures with the participation of Work-Bench and previous investors Accomplice, Bullpen Capital, and AlleyCorp.

Kenmei Technologies

Kenmei Technologies, a provider of mobile network intelligence and automation solutions, has raised €1 million in seed round from venture capital firm GoHub Ventures, the investment vehicle of Global Omnium, and R2 Seed Investments.

GreenBay Technologies

Informatica announced it is investing in GreenBay Technologies, a data management startup focused on AI and machine learning, to develop AI innovations that strengthen the impact of Informatica’s AI-powered CLAIRE engine across its Intelligent Data Platform.

BigID

BigID, a data-centric personal data privacy and protection company, has raised $50 million in Series C funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors SAP.io Fund, Comcast Ventures, Boldstart Ventures, Scale Venture Partners and ClearSky, as well as new investor, Salesforce Ventures. BigID has raised nearly $100 million in the last 18 months.
