VC funding: IOTAS, Relativity Space, BurstIQ, 7shifts

IOTAS, Relativity Space, BurstIQ, 7shifts, HYPR, Naborly, Caribu, Rapyd, Spekit, Autify, Saturn Cloud, among others, announced their latest VC funding or PE funding from investment firms.

IOTAS, a leading IoT-as-a-Service smart apartment platform, has completed its Series A round of funding led by TELUS Ventures with participation of Liberty Global. Early investor, Intel Capital, recommitted capital in this round. IOTAS raised $17 million to date. Sce Pike is the founder and CEO of IOTAS.

Relativity Space

Relativity Space, the company building the autonomous rocket factory and launch services for satellites, has raised $140 million in Series C funding round led by Bond and Tribe Capital. New investors include Lee Fixel, Michael Ovitz, Spencer Rascoff, Republic Labs, and Jared Leto. Current investors include Playground Global, Y Combinator, Social Capital, and Mark Cuban. Tim Ellis is the cofounder and CEO of Relativity Space.

BurstIQ

BurstIQ, a blockchain solutions provider for the healthcare industry, has closed $5.5 million funding in a Series A round from Elsewhere Partners. Frank Ricotta is the CEO of BurstIQ.

7shifts

7shifts, a labor management platform for restaurants, has raised an additional $6 million in growth equity funding led by existing investor, Napier Park Financial Partners, with participation from returning investor Relay Ventures and new investor Conexus Credit Union. 7shifts raised $17.4 million to date. Jordan Boesch is the CEO of 7shifts.

CoStar Group

CoStar Group, a provider of real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces, plans to acquire STR for $450 million in cash.

DTN

DTN, a provider of analysis and decision-support solutions, has acquired Weatherzone from Nine Entertainment.

HYPR

HYPR, a provider of True Passwordless Security, has closed $18.3 million in Series B financing led by Comcast Ventures with the participation of .406 Ventures, RRE Ventures, Allen & Co, Triphammer Ventures, Boldstart Ventures, RTP Ventures, Mastercard and Samsung NEXT. George Avetisov is the CEO and co-founder of HYPR.

Naborly

Naborly, which offers free credit and background checks to landlords and tenants, closed its $7.5 million seed round. The round was led by First Round Capital’s Bill Trenchard and Susa Venture’s Chad Byers, with participation of Joe Montana’s Liquid 2, Village Global VC, Assurant Insurance and Third Prime. Dylan Lenz is the CEO and founder of Naborly.

Caribu

Caribu has raised $1.7 million in preliminary commitments through equity crowdfunding for their platform that connects grandparents and parents with their children to read, draw, and play games together through an interactive video-call. The equity offering is part of a larger Seed round that has been backed by investors such as Rise Of The Rest, AT&T, Halestreet Investments, and Be Curious Partners. Caribu raised $3 million to date. Max Tuchman is the CEO and co-founder of Caribu.

Rapyd

Rapyd, a fintech-as-a-service provider, announced a $100 million financing round led by Oak HC/FT with participation from Tiger Global, Coatue, General Catalyst, Target Global, Stripe, and Entrée Capital. Rapyd raised $40 million in series B financing earlier this year. Arik Shtilman is the co-founder and CEO of Rapyd.

Spekit

Spekit, a digital platform enabling teams to communicate change and surface training across applications, has raised $2.54 million in seed round led by Bonfire Ventures with participation from Matchstick Ventures and individual investors including, Dan Scheinman, an investor in technology companies including Zoom and Treasure Data. Melanie Fellay and Zari Zahra are the co-founders of Spekit.

Autify

Autify, which is enabling companies to simply automate software testing with AI, has raised $2.5 million in seed round led by Global Brain, SalesForce Ventures and Archetype Ventures. Autify raised over $3 million to date. Ryo Chikazawa is the co-founder and CEO of Autify.

Saturn Cloud

Saturn Cloud, a provider of the first data science platform designed to help teams work more effectively, has raised $4 million in a funding round led by SignalFire. Founders of Saturn Cloud include Michael Sebastian Metti and Hugo Shi.
