Xscape Photonics, a startup specializing in silicon photonics for AI data centers, has closed a $44 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $57 million. The financing was led by IAG Capital Partners, with participation from Altair, Cisco Investments, Fathom Fund, Kyra Ventures, LifeX Ventures, NVIDIA, and OUP.
The funding will accelerate the development of Xscape Photonics’ ChromX platform, a scalable, multi-color, programmable photonics platform designed for AI data center fabrics. As AI-driven workloads are projected to account for over 20 percent of energy consumption in data centers by 2025, Xscape’s technology aims to enhance energy efficiency, performance, and scalability to meet the surging demand for data bandwidth.
