Tech deals: Thyssenkrupp, Avaya, Microsoft, CloudAlly, Booz Allen

Thyssenkrupp, Microsoft, CloudAlly, Booz Allen, Avaya, among others, have announced their technology deals.

Thyssenkrupp, which maintains 337 elevators at Microsoft’s headquarters, has installed its MAX predictive maintenance system on 69 elevators. MAX is the elevator industry’s first real-time, cloud-based predictive maintenance solution. There are more than 80,000 MAX units installed in the US and more than 120,000 installed worldwide.

Microsoft

Gravity Supply Chain announced a partnership with Microsoft enabling it to accelerate the delivery of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Gravity will leverage Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform for the deployment of SaaS solutions for its customers.

CloudAlly

CloudAlly, a provider of cloud backup solutions for Office 365, G-Suite and Salesforce, announced its support for cloud backup to Amazon AWS data centers in Canada. Channel partners and customers in Canada can now use CloudAlly to protect SaaS applications while ensuring that all data remains within Canadian borders.

Booz Allen

Booz Allen announced its tech deal to become the prime contractor under the government-wide Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) Program for Group D, with a $1.03 billion order.

The largest Federal task order and the second-largest cybersecurity task order in Booz Allen’s history is from Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in partnership with the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM).

Iteris

Iteris has won four new task orders worth $3.3 million from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for the transportation video and data distribution (TV&D) project.

Vocera

Vocera Communications has bagged a tech contract from the Department of Defense (DoD).

Avaya Holdings

Avaya Holdings has won a tech deal from the Australian Department of Defence to become the contact centre technology and services provider.

As per the five-year contract, Avaya will assist Defence to migrate and consolidate its 14 contact centres – comprising more than 650 personnel and servicing over 40 lines of business – to the Avaya platform.

March Networks

One of Canada’s largest cannabis producers has selected March Networks’ cannabis video solution to provide security, loss prevention and operational insights for its retail dispensaries.

Elementum

Elementum announced that BASF is leveraging its Orchestration Platform to bring the speed of now to supply chain. The platform supports global supply chains through early discovery of potential problems, assessment and prioritization of challenges.

“We handle 6.5 million deliveries per year globally across all modes of transport. With the help of Elementum’s platform, we gain end-to-end transparency of shipment status and the ability to take action so that we can identify problems, mitigate risks, and better serve our customers,” said Frithjof Netzer, chief digital officer of BASF.

Avaya Holdings

Avaya Holdings announced the company’s designation as the 88th Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) Numbering Authority (CNA) globally by the MITRE Corporation, an international not-for-profit security institute.

Telensa

Telensa has bagged technology deal from Sunshine Coast Council to deploy its PLANet intelligent street lighting system, for a 24 month pilot in the Maroochydore City Centre development, and in nearby Evans Street.

VTS

VTS announced its technology deal with JLL Agency Leasing to provide leasing and asset management technology for use by JLL Americas Agency Leasing employees.

MongoDB Atlas

Online electricals retailer AO.com built a single customer view platform on MongoDB Atlas in a bid to fight fraud and become GDPR compliant. The e-commerce company selected MongoDB Atlas, running on AWS, and was able to go from development to production in less than six months.

General Technical Services

General Technical Services has won a tech deal worth $9.97 million to provide Scientific, Engineering and Analysis Support (SEAS) for research at experimental facilities located at Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC), MD and other sites.
