SydeLabs, a startup specializing in AI security and risk management, has secured $2.5 million in its seed funding round.
The VC funding is intended to bolster the company’s efforts in crafting solutions aimed at fortifying generative AI systems utilized by enterprises against potential cyber threats.
The funding round was spearheaded by RTP Global, a venture capital firm, and witnessed additional contributions from Picus Capital along with several angel investors.
The adoption of generative AI technologies has introduced a novel cyber-security challenge, expanding the attack surface for entities harnessing such innovations.
Co-founded by Ruchir Patwa and Ankita Kumari, SydeLabs specializes in offering proactive solutions designed to pinpoint security vulnerabilities and ensure the integrity of enterprise AI systems in real-time, thus mitigating potential cybersecurity breaches and abuses.
Ankita Kumari emphasized the evolving nature of security risks introduced by generative AI, stating, “From a security point of view, companies are now bringing a human-like element into systems that were previously not susceptible to social engineering and manipulation. From a compliance perspective, we see systems having access to internal and user data with the ability to take action on that data.”
SydeLabs adopts a proactive stance by focusing on the intent of potential attackers. This innovative approach allows the company to delve deeper into its cybersecurity offerings, offering a more robust defense mechanism against evolving threats.
Galina Chifina, a Partner at RTP Global’s Asia Investment team, lauded SydeLabs’ forward-thinking approach to AI security, stating that their strategy “showcases the kind of forward-thinking application of technology we champion at RTP Global.”
