GlobalData has revealed the number and value of venture capital (VC) funding deals announced in India during January-October 2024.

The number of VC funding deals announced in India has reached 984 during January-October 2024. The growth in the number of VC funding deals in India was 5.8 percent in terms of deal volume.
The size of VC funding deals was $9.2 billion during January-October 2024. The growth in the value of VC funding deals was 44.4 percent.
During January-October 2023, there were 930 VC deals in India with funding value of $6.4 billion.
“Investor confidence seems to be reviving as India demonstrates significant improvement in VC funding activity during the year compared to peer countries,” Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, said.
India accounted for 7.1 percent share of the total number of VC deals announced globally in January-October 2024, whereas its share in terms of total disclosed funding value stood at 4.2 percent.
Noteworthy venture capital funding deals in India include Zepto’s $665 million raised in June, followed by an additional $340 million in August. Other significant funding rounds include Meesho securing $300 million, PharmEasy raising $216 million, PhysicsWallah securing $210 million, and Purplle raising $178.4 million.
