Bushel Secures $26 mn in VC Funding to Elevate Digital Agriculture Platform

Leading the charge in digitally connecting farmers and agribusinesses, Bushel has marked a significant milestone with the successful closure of an oversubscribed $26 million in a VC funding round.

The investment was led by The Banc Funds Company, and garnered substantial support from both new and existing investors. Among the notable participants in this funding round are 50 South Capital, The Andersons, Inc., Cargill, Germin8, Lewis & Clark AgriFood, The Scoular Company, and Conti Ventures—an investment group under Continental Grain Company’s umbrella.

Bushel stands as an independent software company, dedicated to crafting digital tools tailor-made for farmers and participants within the agricultural supply chain. Its software solutions digitize, streamline, and expedite the flow of information, transactions, and payments through secure mobile and desktop applications.

The infusion of $26 million in funding serves as a catalyst for Bushel’s ongoing development of software products and features that deliver significant value to a wide spectrum of stakeholders. This includes farmers, grain buyers, agricultural retailers, protein producers, and food companies.

Since its inception in 2017, the Bushel platform has experienced meteoric growth. It currently powers over 2,600 grain and agricultural retail facilities spanning the United States and Canada. Through real-time business insights tailored to producers, the platform has become integral to the operations of its users. In fact, Bushel’s platform accounts for more than 45 percent of grain origination within the United States and Canada, fostering one of the most substantial technology network effects among farmers and grain buyers in the U.S.
