The VC funding was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Workday Ventures and existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, CRV, and F2 Venture Capital. This investment bolsters Astrix’s mission to safeguard enterprises from security vulnerabilities posed by NHIs, including API keys, service accounts, and other digital entities.

By 2028, 15 percent of daily work decisions will be made autonomously by agentic AI, Gartner predicts. As organizations increasingly adopt AI agents to streamline workflows, NHIs — critical to these systems — are becoming a prime target for cyberattacks. Recent breaches involving companies like Microsoft and Okta have highlighted the risks associated with unsecured NHIs.

Astrix CEO Alon Jackson said: “As AI accelerates the proliferation of NHIs in enterprises, securing these identities has never been more critical. Our technology ensures trusted access for both human and non-human entities to sensitive environments, addressing a vital blind spot in enterprise security.”

Menlo Ventures spearheaded the Series B through its Anthology Fund, a $100 million initiative launched in partnership with Anthropic to invest in AI startups.

Since its Series A funding last year, Astrix has quintupled its business, tripling its team to support a Fortune 500 client base that includes Figma, NetApp, Priceline, and Workday. The company has garnered accolades, including being named a SINET16 Innovator 2024, a Gartner Cool Vendor in Identity-First Security, and an RSA Innovation Sandbox finalist in 2023.

At the inaugural NHI Security Conference, Astrix and the Cloud Security Alliance unveiled findings showing that one in five organizations had faced an NHI security incident, yet only 15 percent felt confident in their ability to manage such threats. Astrix’s agentless approach offers visibility across all NHIs, automating the detection and remediation of over-privileged or malicious access to minimize risks.

Founded in 2021 by Israel Defense Force 8200 alumni Alon Jackson and Idan Gour, Astrix Security specializes in protecting NHIs from cyber threats. With $85 million raised to date, the company is a trusted partner for enterprises navigating the complexities of modern identity and access management.

With over $6 billion in assets under management, Menlo Ventures invests in transformative technologies across AI, healthcare, and enterprise. Its portfolio includes innovative companies like Abnormal Security, Anthropic, Benchling, Carta, Chime, Harness, Pinecone, Poshmark, Pillpack, Recursion, Roku, Rover, Siri, Typeface, Uber, and Warby Parker.
