Nabla, a provider of ambient AI assistant for medical practitioners, has raised $24 million in a Series B VC funding round.
Spearheaded by Cathay Innovation, with investment participation from ZEBOX Ventures, this funding milestone propels Nabla’s total funding over $43 million.
Nabla’s AI-driven solution, the Nabla Copilot, has emerged as a beacon of relief for clinicians grappling with the burdensome task of managing electronic health records (EHRs).
The Copilot minimizes the time spent on clinical documentation, slashing the six additional hours weekly typically dedicated to EHR work. Notably, providers have praised the precision of Nabla’s note-generation capabilities, with a mere 5 percent requiring adjustments.
Alex Lebrun, Nabla’s co-founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “This fundraise allows us to continue delivering on our vision to build the premier ambient AI assistant that will allow clinicians to experience the joy of practicing again.”
Within less than a year since its official launch, Nabla has reported a staggering three million consultations conducted annually through Nabla Copilot, with over 20,000 providers embracing the ambient AI assistant. Testimonials from practitioners underscore the substantial impact on their workflow efficiency and stress reduction.
Additionally, Nabla prides itself on scalability, catering to the diverse needs of both small practices and extensive health systems with over 10,000 clinicians.
Founded in 2018, Nabla boasts proprietary Large Language Models (LLM) and Speech-to-Text (STT) technologies developed by former Facebook AI Research engineers. The company’s advisory board includes esteemed AI and medical experts such as Yann LeCun, Dr. Megan Mahoney from UCSF, Dr. Haipeng (Mark) Zhang from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Dr. Andrew Lundquist from the Mankato Clinic.
Nabla’s offering spans mobile, desktop, and API interfaces, with a continuous improvement cycle driven by engaged clinician feedback.
