Wipro Appoints Srini Pallia as New CEO as Thierry Delaporte Decides to Leave

Wipro, a technology services and consulting company, has announced the appointment of Srini Pallia as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective immediately. Srini Pallia takes over from Thierry Delaporte, who led the company through a notable transformation over the past four years but is now stepping down to pursue other interests.
Srini PalliaWith over three decades of experience at Wipro, Srini Pallia brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He most recently served as the CEO for Americas 1, overseeing Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing strategic market. During his tenure, Srini Pallia played a pivotal role in shaping the vision and implementing growth strategies across various industry sectors, resulting in significant market share gains.

Rishad Premji, Chairman of Wipro, expressed confidence in Pallia’s leadership, stating, “Srini is an ideal leader to guide Wipro in this crucial juncture. His client-centric approach, growth mindset, strong execution focus, and commitment to Wipro’s values make him the perfect fit as we embark on the next phase of growth and profitability.”

Thierry Delaporte will support the transition until the end of May, ensuring a seamless handover of responsibilities to Srini Pallia.

Srini Pallia, who joined Wipro in 1992, has held various leadership positions within the company, including President of Wipro’s Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services. He is widely respected for his institutional and industry knowledge, as well as his leadership during significant technological shifts.

Srini Pallia is determined to leverage Wipro’s strong foundation and talented workforce to propel the company toward future growth opportunities.

Srini Pallia holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has also completed executive programs at Harvard Business School and McGill Executive Institute.

Based in New Jersey, Srini Pallia will report directly to Chairman Rishad Premji, leading Wipro into its next chapter of innovation and growth.
