Unisys taps Microsoft Azure to launch app for ServiceNow users

Unisys Corporation has announced an application that enables users of the ServiceNow platform to automate provisioning of IT resources on Azure.

Unisys has also announced logistics management and facilities management applications for the ServiceNow platform.

Unisys Service Management has three applications as the newest components for the ServiceNow enterprise cloud platform and will continue to add service management applications to the Edge suite.

Drawing on the ServiceNow service catalog and workflow capabilities, the Edge offerings give digital businesses access to personalized, on-demand, “always on” business and IT services to support their workers, partners and clients.

Users can quickly provision and decommission virtual machines, storage, networking and other IT resources as services on Azure.

Company officials said the organizations using Azure can streamline delivery of digital services and reduce associated costs.

The Unisys logistics management application uses the process-management capabilities of the ServiceNow platform to automate the product-shipment lifecycle, from inventory management through ordering, delivery tracking and financial management.

With the capability organizations can manage stock more efficiently and get products to customers more quickly.

Based on specific protocols, required task for a given situation and people responsible for each task is identified and degree of successful completion for each task is also measured.

Unisys ServiceNow services assist clients in planning, implementing, optimizing and managing ServiceNow solutions.

Unisys will showcase the applications at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas from April 19 to 24.

“By harnessing the two technologies and complementing them with Unisys managed services, we can enable clients to deliver an improved service-management experience to their users at an affordable cost,” said Paul Gleeson, global vice president, Edge Services, Unisys.

Last month, Unisys announced its partnership with ServiceNow to deliver integrated service management solutions for enterprise clients around the world.
