Infotech Lead India: Unilog Content Solutions has deployed Microsoft Office 365 across its offices in Bangalore, Mysore, and Philadelphia.
Unilog Content Solutions specializes in Big Data Analytics and Product Data Management for eCommerce.
Unilog used the Microsoft solution as its hosted mail service outgrew its existing solutions, resulting in significant downtimes, loss of mission critical emails and difficulty in maintaining a higher mailbox quota.
Microsoft said Unilog had evaluated hosted solutions from Google and Microsoft. But the company deployed Office 365 due to its ability to maintain a hybrid cloud/on-premises deployment and it fits the varying needs of businesses, providing rich features and functionality. The transition to Office 365 was completed in three days with the support of Microsoft Partner – Acropetal Technologies.
“With Office 365, we have experienced significant improvement in the reliability of our messaging system, document sharing, and communication capabilities while reducing IT costs and administration. Also, by reducing the time to react to a situation and take appropriate decisions, we are seen as proactive by our customers. This is very positive for the business. Office 365 clearly delivers far greater value than Google Apps at any price point,” said Suchit Bachalli, executive vice president, Unilog Content Solutions.
Unilog has improved employee productivity by 12 percent through instant messages, audio/video calling between PCs and online document sharing.
The transition to Office 365 also enabled the company to reduce administration, maintenance, IT, and up-gradation costs.
Moreove, the company has experienced zero downtime. With a financially-backed Service Level Agreement, Office 365 offered 99.9 percent availability with 24x7x365 support service from trained professionals.
“In today’s hypercompetitive marketplace, it has become increasingly important to empower people and teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences, be more productive, and respond quickly to change and opportunities. Unilog’s decision to implement Office 365 over Google Apps validates our approach to a robust and familiar desktop, browser and mobile clients for access virtually anywhere delivering real value,” said Ramkumar Pichai, general manager – Microsoft Office Division, Microsoft India.
Recently, Dell said it is offering Microsoft Office 365 in the United States for a starting price of $9 per user, per month for the Small Business Plan.
The company will be announcing additional pricing options and bundle packages with other solutions coming soon. Business customers can gain from Microsoft Office 365 with Dell as it offers access to Microsoft productivity solutions such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office Web Apps, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Lync and more.
Meanwhile, the County of Santa Clara has selected Microsoft Office 365 to consolidate IT assets, providing cost savings to the county and more than 36 new products.
The cost for this expansion was just under 10 percent more than previously spent. The countywide Enterprise Software License Agreement provides the county with significant benefits.
