Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience Zone and Design Studio in London, reaffirming its long-term strategic investment in the United Kingdom (UK). As part of its ongoing growth and innovation agenda, TCS plans to create 5,000 new jobs across the UK over the next three years.

For more than 50 years, TCS has been a trusted technology partner to UK enterprises, driving digital transformation and skill development. The new AI Experience Zone and Design Studio, a reimagination of the company’s flagship PacePort facility, will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration. It is the second design studio established by TCS after the one in New York, and it will leverage the company’s extensive innovation ecosystem in partnership with academia, startups, and industry leaders across the UK.
Strengthening UK-India Business Ties
The announcement coincided with a visit by a UK business delegation led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer to the TCS Banyan Park campus in Mumbai. During the visit, UK Minister for Investment Jason Stockwood launched an Oxford Economics report detailing TCS’ economic impact in the UK.
Stockwood highlighted Tata Group’s longstanding contribution to entrepreneurship and innovation, stating that TCS’ continued investment will “create jobs, put money in people’s pockets, and deliver economic growth across both countries.”
TCS’ Economic Contribution to the UK
According to the Oxford Economics report:
TCS contributed £3.3 billion to the UK economy in FY2024.
The company paid over £780 million in taxes, equivalent to the salaries of 20,400 teachers.
TCS supported 42,700 jobs, directly and through its supply chain, across 19 sites in the UK.
Of these, 15,300 employees work in key technology roles such as engineering and data analytics — addressing the country’s digital skills gap.
Nick Mayes, Principal Analyst at PAC, commented that TCS’ latest investment “reinforces its position as the leading provider of critical digital services in the UK” and will enhance its ability to help clients harness the potential of AI.
Driving Innovation, Skills, and Community Impact
TCS serves clients across financial services, retail, manufacturing, life sciences, and public services. Its UK strategy focuses on expanding delivery capabilities, advancing R&D, and strengthening the digital talent ecosystem. Through its ‘Partnering for Skills’ initiative, TCS aims to reskill over 12,000 people for STEM jobs, aligning with the UK government’s workforce development goals.
“The UK is TCS’ second-largest market globally, making it central to our investment strategy,” said Vinay Singhvi, Head – UK & Ireland, TCS. “The AI Experience Zone will foster innovation and help businesses maintain a competitive edge in AI and emerging technologies.”
Beyond its economic and technological contributions, TCS continues to engage in community programs focusing on education, health, and digital inclusion. As the title sponsor of the TCS London Marathon, the 2024 edition raised a record £73.5 million for charities — the highest ever for a single-day event. With continued investments in innovation, people, and skills, TCS is reinforcing its role as a key partner in the UK’s digital transformation journey — bridging technology, business, and community development for a sustainable future.
