Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Secures $1 bn Deal with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) for Digital Transformation

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a prominent software major, has announced a significant milestone by securing a nearly $1 billion (800 million pounds) deal with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). The partnership aims to revolutionize and streamline JLR’s digital infrastructure while building a future-ready, strategic technology architecture.
TCS NetherlandsTCS, known for its extensive domain expertise, proprietary platforms, and extensive partner network, is poised to leverage its capabilities to assist JLR in enhancing its digital capacity. The strategic objectives of this collaboration include the transformation and simplification of JLR’s digital estate, as well as the creation of a forward-looking digital core to support the automaker’s business transformation.

Anupam Singhal, Business Group Head-Manufacturing at TCS, emphasized the unique nature of this partnership, saying, “This is a truly bi-modal partnership where the efficiencies from leaner operations will help fund the new digital core, while our contextual knowledge and expertise will de-risk and accelerate that transformation.”

The scope of services that TCS will provide under this partnership is extensive, encompassing application development and maintenance, enterprise infrastructure management, cloud migration, cybersecurity, and data services.

Consistent with this, we are pleased to expand our long-term relationship with TCS to accelerate our digital transformation.”

TCS’s involvement will not only enhance JLR’s digital capabilities but also promote a leaner and more agile operational model. The partnership is expected to generate substantial cost savings for JLR over the next five years, enabling the automaker to reinvest in its future endeavors.

Outside the scope of the contract, TCS and JLR are working together to advance JLR’s vision of delivering a modern luxury client experience tailored to diverse global markets.
