Study shows unified communications exceed expectations

BPO

Benefits of unified communications met or exceeded expectations of IT decision makers, recent research commissioned by XO Communications revealed.

The survey found that 87 percent of the surveyed business and IT decision makers are of this view. Further to that, the study also revealed that 80 percent of respondents indicated that UC met or exceeded expectations for both collaboration and productivity gains.

However, about 50 percent of respondents said that companies need to invest in resources for user evangelization and training to get the most out of their UC solutions.

“Businesses are eager to benefit from the collaboration and productivity enhancements that UC has to offer,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications.

Heinz added that XO believes that businesses profit from understanding that companies using UC services are benefiting significantly from improved collaboration and productivity.

“To that end, the study points out those companies need to invest in end-user training so they can maximize quickly the ROI of their UC investment,” Heinz said.
