Sonata Software has appointed Rajsekhar Datta Roy as Chief Executive Officer, effective May 9, 2026, marking a leadership transition aimed at strengthening its international business and accelerating its AI-first modernization strategy.

Rajsekhar Datta Roy, widely known as Raj, brings more than three decades of experience in scaling technology practices and managing global delivery for large enterprise clients. His elevation to CEO reflects the company’s focus on deepening its capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud, and digital transformation services.
Raj has been instrumental in expanding Sonata Software’s Dynamics and Microsoft practices into key industry-focused offerings, while driving strategy, delivery excellence, and go-to-market initiatives. Over the past year, he played a central role in advancing the company’s transition into an AI-first organization, including the rollout of its Responsible-first AI approach and the development of the Harmoni.AI platform.
Prior to this role, Raj served as Chief Delivery Officer, overseeing global delivery operations and leading the transformation of Sonata into an AI-led services organization. His leadership also contributed to improving operational margins through technology-driven efficiencies and focused execution.
The company confirmed that Samir Dhir will step down as Managing Director and CEO at the close of business on May 8, 2026, following the completion of his term.
