SolarWinds opens R&D office in Krakow, Poland

SolarWinds, a provider of IT performance management software, has opened its R&D office in Krakow, Poland.

The company plans to build a core team of 40 engineers in Krakow and will expand as the team grows over the years. Austin, Texas- headquartered SolarWinds employs more than 1,700 people worldwide in 11 offices including Ireland, Singapore, India, Australia, and Czech Republic.

The IT performance management software has offices Brno, Czech Republic, and Stockholm and Vasteras Swedish locations.
The opening of the R&D office in Europe is line with the company’s product strategy by supporting the development of purpose-built products that are designed to make IT professionals’ jobs easier, said SolarWinds in a statement.

“Krakow boasts a highly technical talent pool and is recognized as a technology hub for Central and Eastern Europe,” said Doug Hibberd, executive vice president of business operations and engineering at SolarWinds.

SolarWinds said it’s looking for software engineers, UI developers and product testers with expertise in C#, Java, C++ and modern UI frameworks (Angular) in areas such as databases, networking, systems and applications, storage and virtualization.

“We’ve encountered a tremendous caliber of talent with our R&D office in Brno and we believe the addition of Krakow will allow us to continue to build on our success with the technical expertise in Europe,” said Kevin Thompson, president and CEO, SolarWinds.

SolarWinds opened its first European R&D office in Brno in 2008 and it has become the home of the company’s largest software development team, employing more than 300 engineers.
