Shiv Nadar and Sanjay Kalra to invest $500 mn in healthcare IT firms

Shiv Nadar & Sanjay Kalra Associates (SNSK), an investment firm, will invest up to $500 million to buy IT product and platform companies focusing on healthcare technology areas in the US.

Sanjay Kalra is the  ex-chief executive officer of Tech Mahindra, while Shiv Nadar is the founder of HCL Group, an IT services firm.

SNSK, promoted by HCL founder Shiv Nadar and Sanjay Kalra, will also invest in early stage U.S. and Indian companies, where product, platform or talent will accelerate portfolio objectives. The focus areas include hospitals, ambulatory, long term acute care, physician practice, information exchanges, ACOs, self-funded and commercial insurers as well as insurance exchanges.

Mahesh Nagaraj is the managing director of SNSK.

“Over the next five years, SNSK aspires to be an engine of accelerating digital solutions that would make patient care more accountable, efficient, predictable and effective,” said Shiv Nadar, chairman, SNSK.
