SAP HANA helps DPD achieve 20% increase in performance

SAP said the international parcel delivery service DPD migrated its German SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management solution to the SAP HANA platform and achieved 20 percent performance improvement.

PDP, which ships over 2.5 million parcels a day, aims at providing seamless services such as parcel and express shipping, as well as customized solutions. PDP achieved performance increase in its automated mediation and rating process.

“DPD in Germany is in a solid position to avoid bottlenecks at peak times and continue its expansion in the business-to-consumer market,” said Bernd Steinhauer, project manager, SAP Competence Center of DPD GeoPost (Deutschland).

Meanwhile, SAP announced the availability of the 2.0 version ofSAP Predictive Analytics software, bringing predictive analytics to the entire organization’s business users, business analysts and data scientists.

SAP Predictive Analytics provides an integrated approach to predictive analytics that helps uncover trends and patterns from Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT) and existing SAP and third-party data sources.

“By incorporating predictive results into more applications and business processes, users will be able to identify hidden patterns like never before, revealing new or expanded business opportunities,” said Clemens Praendl, senior vice president and general manager, Analytics, SAP.

SAP also announced that the SAP Lumira solution, Edge edition, is available to bring cost-effective data visualization to teams and departments within small and midsize businesses. The SAP Lumira solution puts data visualization and infographics in the hands of business users, helping to provide more immediate and actionable insights.
