Rakuten selects Box for content sharing platform

Rakuten has deployed Box’s cloud content sharing platform to enable secure content collaboration under a mobile environment.

The company said secure content collaboration is between its employees in all of its group companies, working both inside and outside of Japan.

More than 37 million individuals at over 47,000 businesses around the world can share, access and collaborate on files securely using Box.

Meanwhile, companies like General Electric, Schneider Electric and AstraZeneca have already deployed Box.

“We are looking forward to faster information sharing between our employees around the world and the increased work efficiency made possible through the introduction of Box,” said Yasufumi Hirai, executive vice president and representative director, chief information fficer and Rakuten Mobile Business Unit officer, Rakuten.

Last month, Government Digital Service (GDS), the digital arm of the British government, selected Box for content sharing and collaboration across government departments.

Few weeks ago, IBM and Box integrated their existing products and services and develop new solutions targeted across industries such as healthcare, financial services, law and engineering.
