Infotech Lead America: OSIsoft has implemented its PI System at Sapphire Energy’s New Mexico-based facilities, including the Green Crude Farm in Columbus and the Research and Development facility in Las Cruces.
Designed to offer seamless integration and support for the enterprise technology landscape, OSIsoft’s PI System will provide Sapphire Energy with real-time combined data and situational awareness to enable quicker and more precise operational decisions.
“Sapphire Energy is continuously looking to implement technologies that can greatly improve our operational efficiency,” said Dean Venardos, vice president of Operations at Sapphire Energy. “OSIsoft’s PI System enables us to quickly gather, process, and evaluate data, and in turn, make better, more intuitive decisions as we move our business forward.”
“The selection of the PI System by Sapphire continues to validate OSIsoft’s strong value proposition in renewables which require flexibility, scalability, security, and availability. Adding algae derived biofuels to the portfolio of wind, hydro, solar, ethanol, and biodiesel validates these attributes of the PI System™ in renewables,” said Doug Taylor, manager for Renewables at OSIsoft.
“The PI System was first installed in a refinery 32 years ago and adding the production of Green Crude represents yet another chapter in the history of OSIsoft. This continues to demonstrate the stability and unwavering vision of providing the best agnostic and open infrastructure for streaming data and events,” said Craig Harclerode, Doug’s counterpart in the O&G Fuels Value Chain.
