Oracle introduces Oracle Cloud Applications Release 9

Oracle introduced Oracle Cloud Applications Release 9, including additions and updates to software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings. Oracle provides modern business practices for every function in the enterprise and a practical path to the cloud to help customers to achieve business goals.

Oracle introduces six new platform services

Oracle introduced six new Oracle Cloud Platform services that help customers and partners develop and deploy new applications, extend and personalize Oracle SaaS applications, and migrate existing on-premises applications to Oracle Cloud.

Oracle announced expansion of the Oracle Cloud Platform to include new functionality for big data analytics, integration, process management, Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE), and Node.js for server-side JavaScript.

Oracle Analytics Cloud unveiled

Oracle announced Oracle Analytics Cloud, a comprehensive portfolio of analytics offerings built for the cloud; deployed in the cloud; and enabling data analysis for cloud, on-premises, traditional, and big data sources.

Oracle Open World 2014

Oracle offers Exalytics In-Memory Machine X4-4

Oracle unveiled Exalytics In-Memory Machine X4-4 to deliver analytics for business intelligence and enterprise performance management applications. The new release features upgraded hardware powered by four Intel Xeon E7-8895 v2 series processors, customized by Intel for Oracle Engineered Systems. The Exalytics In-Memory Machine X4-4 supports up to 3 TB of memory, 4.8 TB of PCI Flash and 7.2 TB of hard disks — increasing capacity in every dimension.

Oracle’s Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance

Oracle Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison announced the availability of Oracle’s Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance, the world’s first and only engineered system designed specifically for Oracle Database protection. This appliance delivers data protection, efficiency, and scalability.

The Recovery Appliance reduces the impact of backups on production servers and networks, virtually eliminating the need for lengthy backup windows.

Oracle FS1 Series flash storage system

The new Oracle FS1 Series flash storage system scales to petabytes of all-flash capacity while delivering a multitude of innovations designed to take flash technology to new extremes. Users of Oracle Applications including Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle’s PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Siebel applications can now benefit from one-click application storage provisioning that simplifies deployment and automates complex manual tuning and administration.

New Oracle HCM Cloud

The latest version of Oracle HCM Cloud continues to provide users with the experience they have come to expect from consumer applications. It includes design enhancements developed with customer input to give even casual users a simple solution so they can get back to their day-to-day work more quickly and maximize their productivity.

Oracle Data as a Service (DaaS) for Sales

Oracle announced Oracle Data as a Service (DaaS) for Sales, a component of the Oracle Data Cloud.

In partnership with Dun & Bradstreet, a provider of commercial data and business insights, Oracle DaaS enables organizations to create new business opportunities.

Oracle DaaS for Sales helps enhance sales effectiveness by delivering in-depth company and contact profile data, including social identity and competitive Data for richer prospecting.

Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service

Oracle has introduced Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (Oracle BI Cloud Service), a part of Oracle Analytics Cloud, which offers the most comprehensive analytics cloud suite on the planet. Oracle BI Cloud Service helps improve decision-making across the organization by lowering the barrier to entry for users providing information access with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of the cloud.

At JavaOne 2014

At JavaOne 2014, Oracle is showcasing the latest developments for Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) and future plans for Java EE 8.

In addition, the company is introducing GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 4.1, which provides updated platform support, new features, and an improved developer experience.

Oracle Java ME Embedded 8.1

At JavaOne 2014, Oracle introduced Oracle Java ME Embedded 8.1, which expands the availability of Oracle Java ME Embedded to new platforms and opens new opportunities in the embedded and IoT market.

At JavaOne 2014, Oracle will highlight these advancements and the rapid adoption of the latest release of Java SE 8. Oracle will also show how it’s working in the OpenJDK Community to lay the groundwork for Java SE 9.

Oracle Customer Strategic Design Program

Oracle is announcing the Oracle Customer Strategic Design Program, with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Texas System, and University of Wisconsin-Madison participating to provide guidance and domain expertise that will help shape the design and development of Oracle Student Cloud.

Oracle’s Acme Packet 1100

Oracle announced the release of Oracle’s Acme Packet 1100, an enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) appliance optimized for midsize organizations and branch offices of large enterprises.

Oracle Insurance Revenue Management and Billing Cloud Service

Oracle Insurance Revenue Management and Billing Cloud Service offers the simplicity and scalability of the cloud, while delivering important insurance-specific features such as improved transaction feed management, enhanced individual and aggregated stop loss calculations, and on-demand billing that make it easier for insurers to bill more efficiently and flexibly to meet customer needs.

Oracle Financial Services Revenue Management and Billing

Oracle Financial Services Revenue Management and Billing is now available as a cloud service and includes new and enhanced features for on-demand billing, multi parameter-based pricing, transaction feed management and data ingestion — all available with faster deployment and lower total cost of ownership.
