NCR FastLane SelfServ self checkout release 6

NCR Corporation launched NCR FastLane SelfServ Checkout Release 6, the new addition to the family of NCR self-checkout solutions, at NRF BIG SHOW 2016.

The new offering features a sleek, contemporary design, advanced currency recycling capabilities and an integrated convertible option that makes it easy to switch from self-checkout to cashier-assisted mode when peak throughput is required.

“As retailers continue to reinvent the front of their stores, the flexible, convertible design of our new FastLane solution will give them options to maximize the value of their investment,” said Dusty Lutz, general manager of Self-Service, NCR Retail.

“Whether it is in a small convenience store or the largest hypermarket, our FastLane Release 6 solution provides better service through a flexible and naturally convenient shopping experience.”

Also at the event, the company introduced a new solution to the U.S. petroleum and convenience store market to modernize the fuel pump experience and increase in-store sales.

Through a relationship with Invenco, a leading global supplier of automation and transactional payment systems to the retail petroleum market, NCR said it will begin offering a large, touchscreen fueling experience at the pump. The new solution puts the retailer in the driver seat for content ownership and management.

With NCR Outdoor Payment Terminal as the consumer interface, retailers will be able to enhance future consumer interactions such as engaging fuel consumers for marketing promotions or sales inside the store, ordering food items, playing the lottery, or interact with loyalty program rewards., NCR said in a press statement.

NCR Outdoor Payment Terminal will come in 7” or 12” interactive touch screens, enhanced by NCR solutions on an open platform.

Also on Monday, NCR announced that the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) will be the first U.S. retailer to create an omnicommerce experience with NCR Retail ONE.

Later this year, NCR will begin implementation of its commerce hub at DeCA, creating an open ecosystem of retail applications and data in order to help create a frictionless patron experience for DeCA’s worldwide chain of commissaries.
