NCR buys retail and restaurant software vendor CimpleBox

Business software company NCR Corporation has acquired CimpleBox, a US-based software provider to restaurant operators and retailers.

The strategy of NCR is to assist restaurant operators and retailers to gain from lower operational complexity by investing in the SaaS-based back-office software.

Paul Langenbahn, president of Hospitality Division at NCR, said: “This acquisition supports NCR’s strategy to provide businesses with all shapes and sizes with the solutions they need to modernize their operations.”

CimpleBox software assists businesses to reduce time spent on manual processes, consolidate data and scheduling across multiple sites and gives management visibility into the business and operations.

“The integrated NCR Silver and CimpleBox solution has delivered our franchise system a powerful platform to conduct everything from enhanced sales reporting to inventory management,” said Dave Guido, senior vice president of operations, at Bruster’s, a chain of ice cream parlors.

John Eucalitto, president of Wayback Burgers, said that the integrated solution is ideal for franchise restaurants. “By expanding its offering through CimpleBox, NCR provides us with the technology we need to improve our customers’ in-store experience and help managers and employees streamline routine back-office tasks.”
