Software vendor Microsoft will acquire cloud-based customer engagement solutions provider Parature.
Microsoft did not share financial details.
The acquisition will enable Microsoft to strengthen customer self-service capabilities to accelerate the Microsoft Dynamics vision of helping organizations deliver better customer experiences.

Parature works with more than 500 brands including Ask.com, United States Environmental Protection Agency, IBM, Saba Software, Tagged and Threadless for their 70 million users worldwide.
Parature solution enables organizations to benefit from an extendable knowledge base available through self-service portals on the Web and Facebook.
