Lufthansa CIO reveals why it selected Infosys for digital transformation

Lufthansa has selected Infosys for its digital transformation due to Infosys’ expertise in AI-driven innovation, cloud solutions, and deep industry knowledge.

The collaboration with Infosys will establish a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru to enhance Lufthansa Group’s software development and support Lufthansa Systems’ products.

Lufthansa Group CIO Thomas Ruckert said: “The aviation industry is facing unprecedented challenges, from volatile fuel prices and increasing operational complexities to global political uncertainties. In this context, our collaboration with Infosys reflects our shared commitment to excellence in aviation by addressing these challenges and shaping the future of air travel.”

“Infosys’ expertise in digitalization and innovation using AI and data-driven solutions will be instrumental in optimizing our operations, enhancing passenger experiences, increasing the productivity and stability of our operational processes – for sustainable growth,” Thomas Ruckert said.

Infosys’ AI-first approach with Infosys Topaz and industry cloud solutions like Infosys Cobalt Airline Cloud will drive efficiency, sustainability, and improved passenger experiences. The partnership aligns with Lufthansa’s goal of optimizing operations, increasing productivity, and addressing industry challenges such as volatile demand, fuel costs, and operational complexities.

Lufthansa also values Infosys’ track record in delivering technology solutions for the aviation sector, reinforcing confidence in its ability to support long-term digital transformation.
