Latvian Railway has selected CSG International to deploy an enterprise-wide mediation solution.
As per the deal, the state-owned railway will use CSG Intermediate to manage its entire network from a single platform according to United Nations/Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport (UN/EDIFACT) standards.
CSG in a statement said it will allow Latvian Railway to benefit from automated processes that can track consignments of freight, manage and eradicate errors, aggregate services and eliminate delays resulting from outmoded manual processes.
With more than 200 installations in 64 countries, CSG Intermediate is designed to manage the growth of device availability, diversity of network applications, and complexity of service offerings. It is the most robust mediation and service activation platform available.
Latvia Railway will use CSG Intermediate to strengthen its deployment of international freight logistics and transportation messaging standards.
Today, CSG Intermediate manages almost 100 billion mediation events per month, more than 21 billion usage events each day, and some 300,000 records every second.
George Fraser, vice president of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for CSG, said: “Intermediate is the most flexible and scalable mediation and service activation platform available and is ideally suited to high-volume, next-generation environments.”
