KPN and Dyzle, a provider of measuring and analyzing business process data for cold chain in real-time, joined hands to offer an integrated platform for monitoring, tracking, and providing real-time data analytics and visualization for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
The collaboration is part of KPN’s drive for helping customers in the food and pharmaceutical sectors to improve their core business activity and efficiency and to comply with health regulations.
Dyzle’s platform is a cloud-based solution that collects data such as temperature, humidity, energy consumption and CO2, analyzes that data, and makes it visible on a personal dashboard accessible securely over the web from any internet-enabled device.
The purpose of delivering this data is to help customers provide evidence and proof of product quality for temperature-sensitive products.
This partnership is in line with KPN’s strategy of growth via value added services, and innovating in sectors like machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies.
“By combining our M2M and RFID asset tracking solutions with Dyzle’s monitoring and analytics platform, we will truly be able to move up the value chain in our service offering to business customers,” said Jimmy Wind, managing director of KPN M2M.
The deal will enable KPN to track the location of a product in a logistic chain and collect the environmental conditions during its shipment.
ABI Research says one-stop shop application enablement platforms ease data extraction and normalization activities so that M2M applications and enterprise systems can easily consume machine data. The application enablement platforms will be a necessary enabler in the use of M2M in small, medium and larger businesses.
According to ABI Research, the M2M analytics industry will grow 53 percent over the next five years, to US$14.3 billion in 2018. It says analytics will play a critical role in the evolution of M2M, serving as the foundation for an increasing number of M2M business cases.
The Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cold chain technology solution from Dyzle provides interpretation and analysis of measured variables such as temperature, humidity, energy consumption and CO2.
The open independent platform can integrate and utilize data collected from any source, whether it is from proprietary systems or legacy technologies. Through the entire supply chain – from storage to transport and distribution – Dyzle collects data, analyzes it, and makes it visible via a ‘one click’ personal dashboard accessible securely over the web from any internet-enabled device; this enables full visibility of the total cold chain.
