IT deals: BlackBerry, Esri, MuleSoft, RateGain, Pratt & Whitney

BlackBerry, Esri, MuleSoft, RateGain, CEPRES, Laurel Bridge Software, Pratt & Whitney, among others, announced their latest IT deals or technology deployments for their business clients.

Esri, a supplier of mapping and location intelligence, announced that Salesforce has selected Esri as the geospatial partner for Salesforce Maps. Salesforce is integrating Esri’s ArcGIS Living Atlas. Salesforce Maps users will be able to access Esri’s ArcGIS Online to analyze and visualize geographic and demographic data.


BlackBerry announced that Class 1 railway, Canadian Pacific is deploying BlackBerry Radar asset monitoring solution across 2,000 of its domestic intermodal chassis. CP will install the 2,000 devices across its chassis fleet at the company’s Vaughan Intermodal Terminal in the Greater Toronto Area.


MuleSoft, a supplier of platform for building application networks, announced that HSBC is deploying MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform to build a digital banking platform to power the bank of the future. HSBC will be using MuleSoft and its Anypoint API Community Manager for building APIs that unlock access to core banking products to enable collaboration with partners and create new revenue channels.


RateGain, a technology supplier for travel and hospitality, announced that Norwegian Cruise Line has selected RateGain to deliver competitive price intelligence to deliver on their pricing strategy and gain market share.


Bain & Company, a leading management consulting company, has selected CEPRES as their solution for investment analytics for its Private Equity practice.

Laurel Bridge Software

Laurel Bridge Software, a supplier of software solutions for health systems, announced that Partners HealthCare has implemented their enterprise imaging workflow suite.

Pratt & Whitney

Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies, announced that GoAir signed a deal selecting the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine for the airline’s order of 72 A320neo family aircraft.


ADVA announced that conova communications is using its technology for transport between data centers. conova, one of Austria’s leading IT service providers, has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 open line system (OLS) with ConnectGuard Optical encryption in response to demand from business customers for cloud services.


Mellanox Technologies announced that Fujitsu has selected Mellanox’s InfiniBand interconnect technology and solutions to boost their new Arm-based PRIMEHPC FX700 supercomputer platform.


Ellucian, a supplier of software and services for higher education, announced a new deal with California Southern University (CalSouthern). CalSouthern has selected cloud-based Ellucian Colleague, Ellucian CRM Recruit, Ellucian Analytics, and Ellucian Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) to power its digital transformation.


Checkmarx, a supplier of software security solutions for DevOps, announced that it has won a contract from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Business & Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate to accelerate its development and delivery of secure software.


BlackBerry announced that International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) has deployed BlackBerry Cylance technology across all business units in Asia, Europe, Africa and The Americas to protect end-points across its network.


SAP announced that Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E team is using the SAP HANA platform and the SAP Sports One solution to prepare for season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.


Equisoft, a supplier of digital business solutions for the insurance and wealth industries, has won a deal from National Western Life Insurance Company to replace its core legacy policy administration system to support its digital growth initiatives.

Ametek, a manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, has deployed SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals, SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development and SAP SuccessFactors Compensation solutions for their 18,000 employees in 40 countries and 50 locations.

Profi Rom Food, a Romanian chain of supermarkets, has selected SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite and the SAP Time Management application by Kronos to connect HR processes. These SAP solutions will help Profi Rom Food build an HR function to modernize employee experience and engagement.

SV Group, a gastronomy and hotel management group, selected SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite to expand HR’s role by simplifying processes, removing complexity and delivering actionable HR information and insights.

Vonovia, a leading residential real estate company in Europe, has selected SAP SuccessFactors solutions, SAP Jam collaboration platform and SAP Cloud Platform to drive its digital HR transformation and modernize employee engagement.

GE Aviation

GE Aviation said Emirates will be deploying GE’s electronic Flight Operations Quality Assurance (eFOQA) and Flight Pulse among the Emirates pilot community. The project plans to start with Emirates fleet of B777 and A380 aircraft and Emirates pilots. Emirates and GE Aviation intend for FlightPulse and eFOQA to be implemented into Emirates operations in 2020.
