IT deals: AWS, Wind River, Infor, Perspecta

AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that Standard Bank Group has selected AWS as its preferred cloud provider with the intention of migrating its production workloads, including its customer facing platforms and strategic core banking applications to the cloud.

Wind River

Wind River announced that Astranis Space Technologies is using VxWorks operating system for its satellite that will deliver cost-effective high-speed internet to underserved markets.

BAE Systems

BAE Systems has received a $41.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy to perform routine maintenance and modernization of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23).

General Dynamics

General Dynamics Mission Systems has won a $980 million contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACG-APG) to provide electronic and cyber warfare capabilities to the U. S. Army Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (PEO IEW&S).

Infor

Infor announced that RTS International is financing more than $1 billion in global trade annually through the Infor Nexus supply chain platform.

Perspecta

Perspecta has won a $155 million contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide maintenance and support for the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).

Axon Public Safety

Axon Public Safety Australia has won a deal from the Western Australia Police (WAPOL) for deploying 4,184 Axon Body 2 cameras backed by the digital evidence management system Axon Evidence (Evidence.com).

WAPOL also purchased 4,184 Axon Signal Sidearm units, wireless sensors that alert Axon body cameras when a firearm is removed from an officer’s holster. Axon Citizen for Communities allows agencies to create public portals for collecting evidence related to a specific crime or incident.
