IBM Aspera powers digital sports content firm PERFORM

PERFORM, a digital sports content company, has deployed IBM Aspera software to create an automated workflow to manage more than 20,000 media files per day for its customers.

Aspera Orchestrator will enable PERFORM to control the flow of data via its Content Management System (CMS) in a single view and scale out to the cloud when workloads spike, said IBM in a statement.

Improvement in its workflow management, increase efficiency and enhance its file delivery capacity with a single interface were some of the focus areas behind the selection of Aspera Orchestrator, said IBM.

Aspera Orchestrator is designed to automate the process with little human intervention by directing the right content to the correct transcoding workflow. The IBM technology ensures that the platform processes and delivers the right content.

Ed Silvester, head of video platform at PERFORM, said: “This allows us to ingest and transcode more than 20,000 media files every day, with more than 1,000 different transcode combinations, making a significant improvement to the orchestration of our business model.”
