HP brings Backup Navigator, new  Data Protector Management Pack and updates to Data Protector 9.0

HP Autonomy today announced HP Backup Navigator, a new HP Data Protector Management Pack and updates to HP Data Protector 9.0.

The new lineup of Adaptive Backup and Recovery solutions are designed to enable IT administrators to optimize the allocation of backup resources in order to reduce errors, recovery time and costs, and improve business continuity.

BlueShore Financial is one of the customers of HP Backup Navigator.

“The predictive analytics capability in HP Backup Navigator gives us the ability to perform capacity planning and improve device utilization in our HP Data Protector environment to reduce operational cost,” said Ryan C Burgess, manager, Information Technology Services, BlueShore Financial.

HP claims that the Backup Navigator is the first data protection tool based on in-depth operational analytics that allow for effective navigation of an organization’s backup landscape.

The company said HP Data Protector 9.0 supports the integration with HP Storage and the next-generation federated deduplication capabilities of HP StoreOnce Backup Systems.

It offers recovery of VMware vSphere virtual disks through the new SmartCache feature, saving time and resources and improving administration agility. In addition, it supports EMC storage with native support for EMC Data Domain Boost.

HP Data Protector Management Pack with plug-in support for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager enables organizations to centrally monitor and report on the health, performance and availability of the entire HP Data Protector environment.
