Fortinet ropes in Redington as distributor in India

Telecom Lead India: Fortinet, a provider of network security, has appointed Redington to distribute Fortinet’s complete line of network security solutions in India.

The selection of Redington, one of India’s largest IT distributors, will help Fortinet’s next phase of market growth by driving expansion of the vendor’s channel ecosystem and its penetration into tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Speaking on the selection, Vishak Raman, senior regional director for India and SAARC at Fortinet said Redington’s broad channel base, value-added distribution model and long-standing experience in selling varied security, storage and software solutions will be a key advantage as we seek to cultivate new geographies and market verticals in India.

He added that Redington’s grip in the tier-2 and tier-3 citie and marketing policies will help Fortinet gain incremental market share.

Under the terms of agreement, Redington will distribute Fortinet’s FortiGate unified threat management (UTM) solutions and the vendor’s newer security solutions.

“The introduction of Fortinet’s well established UTM portfolio significantly enhances the quality of our security vertical offerings to our VAR/SI partners,” said

R Venkatesh, head – Strategic Business Unit at Redington said the introduction of Fortinet’s UTM portfolio enhances the quality of our security vertical offerings to our VAR/SI partners.

Redington has also inducted a Fortinet trained pre-sales team to support Fortinet certified partners.
