Diamond Foods selects Transplace to improve supply chain visibility

Infotech Lead America: Diamond Foods has selected Transplace’s transportation management system (TMS) to improve operational efficiency and supply chain visibility.

Transplace, a provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, on Tuesday said Diamond Foods will have access to Transplace’s web-based technology and business intelligence (BI) analytics.

Diamond Foods, a packaged food company with brands including Kettle Brand Chips, Emerald snack nuts, Pop Secret popcorn, and Diamond of California nuts, will benefit as the company can optimize its transportation network, view shipments in real-time, reduce transportation costs and support long-term business goals.

Provided as software-as-a-service (SaaS), Transplace’ TMS allows for Diamond Foods to collaborate with Transplace’s customer network and take advantage of cross customer co-loading opportunities.

“With the Transplace SaaS solution, Diamond Foods has optimal technology to support real-time visibility, planning, procurement and execution management across our portfolio of brands,” said Diamond Foods Vice President Supply Chain & Logistics Jeff Stites.

Transplace’s SaaS TMS enables Diamond Foods to manage all inbound and outbound transportation from domestic vendors to its distribution centers and cross-docks, and to all customer locations. Diamond Foods can make better informed decisions to run its business.

“Transplace provides the advanced technology and support that allows Diamond Foods to automate our processes and optimize our transportation management operations,” said Gabe Sandoval, director of logistics, Diamond Foods.
