Infotech Lead America: Code 42 Software, a provider of onsite, offsite and online backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, has appointed Brian Bell as president and chief operating officer.
Bell, who worked with the storage industry, will look after expanding sales globally as well as scaling operations and services.
“Brian’s experience driving enterprise storage sales speaks for itself,” said Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and CEO, Code 42 Software.
Prior to joining Code 42 Software, Bell worked as executive director, Americas sales, enterprise storage at Dell.
Before that, he was vice president of global sales at Compellent Technologies, which was acquired by Dell for $960 million.
Bell also served an executive at StorageNetworks and was a captain/F-16 pilot in the United States Air Force.
“The Code 42 Software team has built an incredibly successful backup solution that seamlessly scales from consumers to the enterprise. There are great things on the horizon for Code 42. The company’s $52.5 million round of funding, the Consumerization of IT and the emergence of BYOD have the company poised for even more aggressive growth,” said Bell.
Code 42 manages and protects over 150 petabytes of data globally, across three products: CrashPlan for the home; CrashPlan PRO, an online backup solution for SMB; and CrashPlan PROe, a private and public cloud solution for the enterprise.
