Dell Software said it is powering the migration of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United’s 1,100 user mailboxes and 2 terabytes of data from IBM Notes to Microsoft Office 365.
The company migrated to Microsoft Office 365 over the week-end without interrupting the work.
The third-largest bottler of Coca-Cola products in the United States decided to move to Microsoft 365 to better collaborate with the more than 250,000 contacts in the Coca-Cola family worldwide. Coca-Cola Bottling Company United used Dell’s Migrator for Notes to Exchange, Coexistence Manager for Notes and MessageStats solutions.
Additionally, the company wanted to maintain co-existence with Notes applications, Blackberry support in the cloud, and Microsoft Lync migration from IBM Sametime.
Working with Dell, InfraScience and Microsoft, employees finished work on Friday using Notes, and returned on Monday to use Office 365 Outlook.
Dell Software’s automated solutions delivered a significant return on investment, and the migration allowed for a reduced cost of ownership, better uptime and less day-to-day administration. A simple end-user learning curve was an added bonus that saved both time and money.
Michael Neighbors, director of IT, Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, said: “The migration was seamless and simple and has achieved our primary objective of improving our collaboration systems and staying closely connected and integrated with the other bottlers.”
Coca-Cola Bottling Company United has reduced the administrative effort required to manage the collaboration systems day to day.
Dell has migrated well over 50 million mailboxes over the span of the last decade.

“the company wanted to maintain co-existence with Notes applications” so they still use the Notes client?
