Dell Services in IT deal with Community Health Plan of Washington

Community Health Plan of Washington has selected Dell Services to supply ikaSystems administrative platform on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.

The IT deal is to position the plan to grow in response to federal healthcare reform initiatives.

Under the agreement, Dell, with ikaSystems’ support, will implement the ikaSystems administrative platform on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, including the modules such as ikaClaims, ikaEnterpriseService, ikaMedicareGateway, ikaBilling, Provider Portal and Member Portal.

Dell will also provide business process outsourcing and IT services that include data entry, mailroom services, claims processing, configuration services, and premium billing.

“A flexible, scalable business platform and IT infrastructure are critical for health plans to be successful in today’s more competitive consumer-focused marketplace,” said Sid Nair, Dell Services vice president and global general manager, Healthcare & Life Sciences.

CHPW, a not-for-profit health plan offering a variety of Medicare and Medicaid coverage options to approximately 300,000 Washington State residents, will benefit as the services and solutions will streamline CHPW’s administrative processes for its Medicaid and Medicare lines of business.

The Dell solution enables the plan to effectively grow its membership and lower operational costs. The scalability and flexibility of the solution also will position CHPW for success as the post-reform market evolves.

Dell says it works with health plans representing approximately 100 health insurance organizations. On an annual basis, the company processes more than 96 million claims, handles more than 1.3 million enrollment transactions and manages call centers that receive more than 11 million calls per year for these customers.
