Dell assists Johnson Matthey to cut AD migration time by 83%

Dell assisted Johnson Matthey to cut Active Directory (AD) migration time by 83 percent, and reduce support calls from local identity administrators by 98 percent.

The global specialty chemicals company benefitted from Dell’s migration, compliance, and identity and access management offerings.

The FTSE 100 company tapped Dell to manage its exponential growth. The company has 10,000 users in 30 countries.

Dell assisted the company to consolidate its AD forests into a single forest for centralized authorization and administration of users and computers in the network.

“Dell allowed us to deliver the AD migration within our tight deadline without data loss and disruption to the majority users, improve security levels and comply with industry regulations, and provide ongoing management,” said Stephen Way, divisional IT director, Johnson Matthey.

Dell took 8 months to complete the IT project instead 4 years when carried out manually. Because it manages some of the administration, ActiveRoles Server has delivered significant time savings for IT staff.

Dell recently said data center solution has assisted Amerijet International, a Florida-based cargo shipping company, to cut facility costs by 60 percent.

The cargo shipping company utilized end-to-end Dell data center solution including infrastructure, software and services to improve energy efficiency and reduce the time to print a manifest and close flights by 96 percent.
