Dailymotion selects Orange Business to optimize video for live streaming

Dailymotion has selected Orange Business Services to optimize video content for live streaming of sports and gaming events to users in Europe, North America and Asia.

The Media Delivery solution implemented by Orange Business Services and its partner Akamai uses a network of servers to accelerate the distribution of video content over the internet while improving security.

Users will benefit from improved image quality, faster access and higher download speeds and they can watch high-quality live video content online from a lap-top, tablet or smartphone.

For the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race in France on 14-15 June Dailymotion and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest set-up a specific web-TV system to enable the race to be broadcast live over the internet.

Orange Business Services and Akamai supported more than 5.5 million people to follow the race live, with an audience peak of 160,000 simultaneous connections.
