CSG readies for Cable TV digitalization in India

 

Infotech Lead America: CSG Systems International, a global provider of software and services-based business support solutions, is ready to tap the business potential offered by the cable TV digitalization spree, as mandate by the Indian government.

The company has announced that it is offering solutions to help Indian cable operators to accelerate the digitization process.

CSG Singleview, a convergent customer management, charging and billing solution, being offered by the company supports diverse subscription models, set-top box subsidies, triple and quad-play bundles and “Over-The-Top” content delivery models that will help the cable operators to accelerate the digitalization process.

The company said that Business Support Systems (BSS) as back-office functionality can help in creating create a whole host of new tiered bandwidth, high speed data and content offerings to accommodate a wide variance in customer usage patterns and preferences.

“Digitization of the cable networks is building momentum across India, driven by rapid changes in consumers’ digital consumption behaviour.  Cable service providers will need to rise to the challenge and transform the way in which they offer new services and support customers,” said Ian Watterson, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, CSG International.

To help the digitalization process, the company will provide its product portfolio and a variety of delivery models including licensed and new managed service offerings for CSG Singleview to the Indian market.

The company claims that CSG Singleview delivers a high degree of flexibility to the cable business model, well suited to a dynamic industry.

CSG serves Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Dish Network, Cox Communications, Charter Communications and Mediacom in the U.S, with a variety of solutions.

In March, CSG International signed two new clients – one in Australia and one in South East Asia.
