Cognizant’s Rajesh Nambiar Takes the Helm as Nasscom’s Chairperson, Steering India’s Tech Leadership

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom), India’s premier IT industry body, has welcomed a new leader to its ranks. Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India, has been appointed as the Chairperson of Nasscom, succeeding Anant Maheshwari, former President of Microsoft India, who now serves as the President and CEO of Honeywell’s High Growth Region portfolio.

With this move, he brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Nasscom’s mission of promoting and supporting India’s technology sector.

“As enterprises accelerate their journey towards digitalization, they will evolve into adaptive entities capable of absorbing volatility and building sustainable growth models with diversity and inclusion as a cornerstone,” noted Nambiar, emphasizing the crucial role of technology in shaping the future of businesses.

Working closely with Nasscom President Debjani Ghosh, Nambiar will collaborate with the Nasscom Executive Council, industry leaders, and government authorities to fortify India’s position as a global technology hub, even amid the current volatile macroeconomic environment.

Rajesh Nambiar’s illustrious career includes serving as the global leader of IBM Application Services, where he managed an $8 billion P&L encompassing data, AI, and analytics. His leadership played a pivotal role in overseeing the development of technology practices offering a wide range of applications and ensuring profitable delivery for numerous clients.

Under Nambiar’s stewardship, Nasscom is set to continue its pivotal role in driving India’s technology sector forward and furthering the country’s reputation as a global technology powerhouse.
