Cognizant, a global leader in technology and professional services, has won a technology contract from Unitywater, a leading water utility in Queensland.
Cognizant did not reveal the financial details of the five-year ICT Support Managed Services contract with Unitywater.
Unitywater aims to advance digital infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity, in alignment with its strategic goals. Unitywater Chief Financial Officer Pauline Thomson is responsible for Technology and Digital Solutions.

Key performance indicators for Cognizant’s performance include the Net Promoter Score, which will measure internal and external customer satisfaction and the impact of Cognizant’s services on Unitywater’s IT users, operational efficiency, and productivity improvements.
Unitywater provides customers in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa with water and wastewater services. Unitywater provides essential services to more than 800,000 members through an investment of $1.8 billion over the next five years to deliver critical infrastructure.
Unitywater has installed 10,609 smart digital water meters at properties in Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland, Mountain Creek, Kuluin and Buderim. Real-time data has enabled more than 2,059 smart water meter customers to find and repair leaks early, saving 337 million litres of water.
The deployment of digital water meters has also ensured $1.7 million in customer savings through early leak detection. Unitywater reported revenue of $759.8 million and profit of $137.5 million during 2022-23.
