Cognizant Hires Wipro’s Jatin Dalal as Chief Financial Officer

Cognizant, a leading professional services company, has announced the appointment of Jatin Dalal as Chief Financial Officer, effective December 2023.
Cognizant employeesIn this significant role, Jatin Dalal will report directly to Ravi Kumar S, Cognizant’s Chief Executive Officer, and will be responsible for managing various vital functions within the company, including worldwide financial planning and analysis, accounting and controllership, tax, treasury and internal audit, corporate development, investor relations, and enterprise risk management.

Jatin Dalal’s appointment follows the impending retirement of Jan Siegmund, the current CFO, set to take place in early 2024. Upon Dalal assuming the role of CFO, Siegmund will transition into a non-executive officer and special advisor position to ensure a smooth transition.

Bringing a wealth of executive-level financial expertise gained from working with multinational organizations, Jatin Dalal most recently served as the CFO and President at Wipro, a technology services and consulting company, since April 2015. During his tenure at Wipro, he held various key positions and significantly contributed to the company’s financial strategies and operations.

Ravi Kumar S, Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant, expressed confidence in Dalal’s appointment, citing his extensive experience and success in the ever-evolving technology services industry. Kumar believes that Jatin Dalal’s expertise will play a crucial role in driving Cognizant’s revenue growth and achieving organizational goals.

Jatin Dalal holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat, India, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) specializing in Finance and International Business from NMIMS, Mumbai, India.

He is a Chartered Accountant (India), Cost Accountant (ICWA India), Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA-UK), and Chartered Financial Analyst (US). Dalal is also an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
